Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre

This is a course that will introduce students to drama and the Performing Arts. Students will have an opportunity to act, dance and sing in both a solo and group situation.

The purpose of the classes is to encourage an environment where children can be creative, feel safe enough to take risks, and truly be themselves. Each class has a fully developed curriculum that becomes more rigorous as the children get older and become more advanced. We want to challenge our students and help them strive to achieve more than they thought they could!

Each student has a chance to get to know all the other students in the class so that they can be part of an ensemble. We want our students to feel comfortable enough to perform in front of each other every week. A typical class starts with general warm up, then moves onto smaller group-based exercises, skits and scene enactments.

Classes will be run for the following age groups:

Saturdays 11:30 – 12:25 pm 10 – 16 year olds
Saturdays 1:00 – 1:55pm 10 – 16 year olds

There will be a recital at the end of each term for parents at the studio where students will demonstrate what they have learnt over the course of the term. The recital gives our students a chance to see their hard work pay off and lets them feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of the term.

Students are given the opportunity to audition for our annual production which showcases in May.
